President, ICPM
Welcome to the website of the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine. Since its incorporation in 1970, the membership of the College has grown to include a wide range of professionals from over 30 countries. Our M.D. membership includes psychiatrists, internists, gynecologists, general practitioners, pediatricians, dermatologists, and even some surgeons. Non-M.D. professionals include psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other health care practitioners. Many of our fellows are world renown leaders in research and academia. The website features online application for membership (see JOIN THE ICPM in the menu). We hope you find the website informative and visit us often to keep abreast of the many exciting trends emerging as the field of psychosomatic medicine continues to evolve.

Our World Congress of Psychosomatic Medicine is held every two years. The most recent, the 21st Congress in Seoul, Korea, was a resounding success. The congresses feature a stimulating academic program that includes cutting-edge research in our field. They also provide a tremendous opportunity for our members to meet and interact with colleagues from all parts of the world. Many life-long friendships have been born at our congresses. Please mark 12-14 September 2013 on your calendar. We hope to see you at the 22nd congress, which will be held in Lisbon, Portugal under the direction of Professor Antonio Barbosa.

The ICPM is proud to offer the Psychosomatic Specialist Certificate to qualified ICPM members.

The Member's Only section contains valuable papers, manuscripts, and other academic materials relating to psychosomatic medicine. Please contact the ICPM administrator at secretariat@icpm.org for a user name and password. (Dues-Paid members only)

An exciting new feature is a monthly commentary on an article selected from one of our journals: Journal of Psychosomatic Research and Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. The commentaries have been especially stimulating, and we encourage any of our members to contribute. Anyone interested in writing a commentary can volunteer by contacting Gary Belcher.
